I remember the kickstarter and was thrilled to see it come to reality on the bigger market. I usually spend around at most $80 on a helmet in the past. But splurging with this one was well worth it. The improved battery life is significant. It eliminates the need to carry and charge the helmet for all rides longer than 2 hours. The handlebar left/right remote has not needed to be recharged since I’ve received it. The older remote signal device required weekly recharging. Nice change!!!!!!! Actual light visibility changes are hard to determine.Thank you for the upgrades. I’m a very serious 71 year old biking enthusiast. Your upgrades and changes to your products are exciting as well as comforting to me. I’m on an 8k goal this year.

May have saved my life!
I had an accident on my bicycle a few weeks ago and ended up with a punctured lung, five broken ribs, assorted scrapes and bruises and a chunk missing from my Lumos helmet. But my head was unharmed - no injury to my head whatsoever. I bought the MIPS version, and I think that my be why my neck didn't even hurt the next day.Thank you, Lumos, for this excellent product. Gut, aber Probleme mit der Fernbedienung, der App und das Blinkergeräusch ist recht leise

Habe den Helm jetzt seit Weihnachten 2024 in Nutzung.

Positives: Er ist bequem, sitzt fest, leicht und sieht gut aus. Das Licht ist hell und der Blinker gut zu sehen. Alles in allem bin ich überwiegend glücklich. Aber:

Negatives:
1) Die mitgelieferte Blinkerfernbedienung:
Bei unter 5°C reicht die Kapazität der Knopfbatterien für die Fernbedienung nicht aus, sie ist dann einfach tot und ich kann den Helmblinker nicht nutzen. Das ist Physik und dagegen kann man natürlich nur bedingt etwas tun. Aber da die Beleuchtung gerade im Winter mit kürzeren Tagen wichtig ist, ist das ein sehr ärgerliches Problem. Vielleicht war es nicht möglich die Fernbedienung so zu konzipieren, dass sie auch bei niedrigen Batteriekapazitäten funktioniert, das ist aber nur ein schwacher Trost. Das Smartphone als Ersatz kann ich nur wenig nutzen, da die Lumos-App den Bildschirm nicht "wach" hält, so dass bei normalen Handyeinstellungen der Bildschirm nach ein paar Minuten ausgeht. Diese Funktion war für mich der Hauptgrund für den Kauf.

2) Die App: Ich konnte bis vor ein paar Tagen mehrere Wochen lang den Helm nicht mit dem Handy verbinden. Die App hat den Helm im Koppelmodus schlicht nicht gefunden. Seit ein paar Tagen geht es wieder, ohne dass ich wüsste, was das Problem und die Lösung waren.

Ein Wunsch: Es wäre toll, wenn es per Firmware-Update möglich wäre, die Lautstärke des Blinkergeräusches zu erhöhen. Im Straßenverkehr in Berlin höre ich den Blinker oft nicht, wenn ich auf Hauptstraßen unterwegs bin.
